Three Local Artists to Love

When it comes to decorating your home, there are a lot of things that I'd advise my clients to try to save money on where they can. And there are some things that I would say are worth the splurge. My top three splurge-worthy items would probably be: 1) quality, solid wood furniture , a well-made, comfortable couch, and some killer art. Instagram has opened my eyes to some seriously talented artists local right here in Raleigh, NC. Whether or not you live in Raleigh, these artists are worth checking out!

I adore Eleanor's bold and fearless use of color and there is something so fresh and original feeling about all of her paintings. Any of her works of art would certainly be worthy of designing a whole room around. They are extremely versatile too - they could just as easily work in a living room, dining room or bedroom. I've seen some of her commissioned pieces for nurseries as well.

Just looking at Cassie's art makes me happy. And that's kind of when you know it is the right style for you and that it is worth making the investment in for your home. She's another artist who is fearless with color but I especially love how she blends her modern style with timeless subjects like flowers, fruit and blue and white ceramics.

Susan's art has a special place in my heart because my mom's favorite art medium was watercolor. I absolutely adore the muted colors and timelessness of her work. The faceless subjects only add to her signature style which she calls "sketch portrait". She does people and pets and beautiful house portraits as well.

Any other great local talent out there? Please share in the comments! I love to support local businesses whenever I can.
