I used the snow/ice as a chance to hibernate and slow down go a few days and so while I’m ready for the kids to go back to school tomorrow, I’ve also loved us all being home together with an excuse to do nothing. I’m helping some clients redo their family room in their fantastic historic home. We want to modernize things and make it functional for a young family while honoring the age and history and style of the home. These were two initial schemes I put together. My long time clients reached out because they wanted to wallpaper their (already lovely!) dining room. They had this one in mind but wanted to see some more options just to be sure that this was THE ONE. Turns out it was and looks fab thanks to @thewallsocietync. We changed the chandelier for a smaller one and this one reflected in the sideboard image is available for purchase if anyone needs a beautiful and large chandelier.

A new year and a new studio space is coming! I’ve loved my time on West Street and will miss it but I am excited for the change, a fresh perspective, and new opportunities ahead.

My client had the furniture already but she wasn’t sure about the color she painted the space (swipe for the before pictures) and wanted the space to feel more finished. This was a fun little powder room project. Swipe to see where we started. The molding had this kind of obtrusive ledge at the top so we removed it to lower the molding, painted a pretty shade of blue, updated the vanity, mirror and light and the finishing touch was just installed today - a pretty wallpaper!

Sourced this runner for a client’s kitchen while I was at High Point market. I rolled it up and carried it with me and I misjudged how heavy it was going to be. I started rewatching Downton Abbey when we were in the UK because I was so inspired by the beautiful estates and palaces we got to see. One of the historians we met on the trip was super down on the accuracy of the show but I don’t care. It makes me happy and forget all the craziness in the world and I adore it. I’m almost finished rewatching the first two movies so I can go to the theater for the grand finale. I’m equal parts excited to watch it and sad for it to really end. I can also say that it might have been better the second time around - Maggie Smith’s lines are so witty and hilarious and I feel like I caught them all better the second time.

Typically when I scheme for clients, I give a couple of options as jumping off points. This was a potential plan for a client in Richmond and is not the direction we are ultimately going to go but can we just take a minute to admire how fun this room would be?! Here’s a happy powder room update. Swipe to see where we started. In addition to adding a lovely wallpaper, we painted the trim and ceiling in a coordinating blue, swapped out the builder grade mirror for one with more personality and added a roman shade in a fun geometric print for some softness and privacy. 💙💜

In non-related decorating news, we just added these beautiful custom drapes and tassel trim to this client’s lovely dining room and I adore how it completes the space!!

We transformed a client’s basement living area from an underused space to a place where the kids and adults can hang out, watch movies, and entertain. We added a huge custom sectional, reupholstered their massive ottoman and club chairs, and added wallpaper, custom pillows and some wonderful art that I am so glad my client said yes when I showed it to her! This room just exudes happiness 💕
