The funny thing about this room (which has turned out to be one of my favorite boy rooms) was that it wasn't a space that my clients and I really planned to do much with. We were focused on updating their daughter's room but when we scheduled the painters to come to do her room, we decided a fresh coat of paint in their son's room would be nice as well. And then when we started talking about paint, my client mentioned that his bunk beds were looking a little rough around the edges and maybe we should get him a new bed - except for the fact that he still really loved the bunk beds (and the room was on the smaller side). I suggested that a fresh coat of paint on the beds might be just the ticket to freshen them up and man was it ever!

Once the beds were painted, they called for some new bedding and the cutest monogrammed pillows!
Then, while we were selecting wallpaper options for his sister's room, one of the options I brought was too cute not to use somewhere so we decided to paper his ceiling with this adorable Cole and Son's star paper. And of course that required a new light fixture since that was getting so snazzy.
His room was on the smaller side and needed to function for him as he needed a place to do his homework so we added a desk to serve double duty as a nightstand with a lamp and a place for studying.
Here's a before shot of the space where we added the desk:
His dresser was in good shape but we added some new hardware to give that a quick and inexpensive update. I scored some cute striped lamps at HomeGoods and we added a simple round mirror over the dresser. And last but not least we added a bookshelf for books and his collectibles and a few fun accessories like that adorable bear hamper.
And here is the finished room:
